Levi Leipheimer has already wrapped a spot for next summer’s Olympic Games in Beijing. |
According to Andy Lee at USA Cycling, Leipheimer qualified with his third-place overall and stage win at the Tour de France this past summer.
The remainder of the men’s spots will be up in the air based on results and criteria going into the 2008 season.
For the men, the U.S. team will get the max number of riders that’s allowed with five road slots and two time trial. Track will get to know its number of allotted spots on March 31 while BMX will find out on May 31 as well. It appears that the Mountain bike team will be allowed two riders.
