This is an effort to help free up the New York City bike lanes from parked cars and other bike lane blockers.

The group Bicycle Clown Brigade finds a fun and effective way of teaching New Yorkers why they shouldn’t park in a bicycle lane. They ride around through out the city issuing mock tickets to illegally parked vehicles. A real ticket for this parking infraction can carry a fine of up to $115.

That seems like a very small fine for such a large problem.
