Gabriele Bosisio

Gabriele Bosisio of Italy, Giro d’Oro winner, pulled away from his escape companions at 3 kilometers to go in the Giro d’Italia’s seventh stage to Pescocostanzo. A select group launched their attack on the Pietransieri climb, forming a strong group with 2007 race winner, Danilo Di Luca (LPR Brakes), 2007 Tour de France winner Alberto Contador (Astana) and Saunier Duval’s Leonardo Piepoli and Riccardo Riccò. Italian Di Luca led the move home, 2′30″ back, for fifth place over Riccò.
