Kessler was also fined just over $4500 for what was called “a forbidden substance in his body,” by the disciplinary committee. He tested positive for testosterone in a surprise doping control on April 24 before the Flèche Wallonne, where he finished 4th. Kessler had been suspended when the result of the A sample was announced the end of June, and fired when the B sample came back positive also.
| 28 year-old German Kessler, who lives in Switzerland, still denies any wrong doing. “Matthias Kessler swears that he did not use testosterone,” his attorney, Michael Lehner, told the German press. | |
