Lars Boom

The Dutch are back on top at The World Cyclo-Cross Championships.
Lars Boom of the Netherlands give the Dutch thier first Championship since back in 2000. Boom has yanked away the trophy from the hands of a seven year Belgian reign at the top of Cyclo-cross.

Boom made his attack near the start of the final lap and when no one could stay on his wheel he cruised in for a 5 second win. Zdenek Stybar (Czech Republic) and Sven Nys (Belgium) sprinted home for second and third. Defending World Champion Erwin Vervecken was the only man that could keep Boom in sight during Boon’s attack but his strong effort cost him and he fell to forth at the end.
